At NKESTI Secondary Government School, an argument broke out between male and female students, filled with bitterness, resentment, and anger. Their faces were tense, and the noise grew louder as the dispute escalated. A frustrated young man shouted:
*"I swear, the governor of Benue is a worthless, cursed fool! This idiot doesn’t deserve to lead this state. A man with no job, always shutting down schools—what kind of nonsense is this? This fool should just disappear. Instead of focusing on education, he brings suffering to the people. This is unacceptable! This bastard... Fauuu!"*
Suddenly, a girl slapped him hard and yelled in Tiv, *"Jarrr! Uba!"* She continued insulting him: *"Hoo! Unduwanh! Your mother... (Allah sees your father’s foolishness... Kuttt! He won’t even mourn the king’s death properly!)"*
The young man, now even angrier, snapped back, *"You better not let me hear you insult the governor again! If you do, I’ll sue your entire family, you disrespectful brat!"*
Another student, Nagari, stepped in, *"Shut up! Stop insulting our governor. He’s doing his best. No one should insult him, but this troublemaker just disrupted our studies. Foreign students are learning, while we’re being denied education. I swear, this time, we’ll protest all the way to Makurdi until this useless man is removed! Yeeee! I swear we’ll deal with these troublemakers!"*
The shouting continued, with more insults flying around. Nagari tried to calm things down, realizing the situation was getting out of control.
Meanwhile, near the office, a girl quietly looked around to make sure no one was watching. She then slowly closed and locked the door. Her heart pounded as she began removing her blouse. Her hands trembled, and a chill ran through her body.
